ANPR Controlled Entry for Bloor Homes

The Challenge

 Bloor Homes NW, have a multi tenanted office complex consisting of 3 building with a shared surface car park. Entry and Exit to the car park from the main road was fully open. This allowed unauthorised vehicles to enter the car park meaning spaces were not available for the tenants. Access needed to be restricted to tenants and their authorised visitors only.

 The Solution

SES Technologies were engaged to design, supply and commission a method of physically preventing unauthorised access to the car park. Working with Axis Communications and Specialized Security Products, a physical and electronic solution was proposed.

In order to restrict access to the car park a set of “Roger Technologies” brushless arm barriers were installed.

These were controlled using Axis License Verifier ANPR software embedded onto Axis 1465-LE cameras. Controlled outputs to the barriers was enabled using Axis A9161 intelligent relays.

To allow visitors to request access, Videx 4G intercoms were used, also programmed for authorised users to call and operate the barriers as an override function.

Administration of the plate database is carried out locally as all devices were connected onto the client’s LAN.

Successful results

 Bloor Homes are now confident that no unauthorised vehicles are entering the facility, creating a more secure environment for both their staff, tenants and visitors.
